Approval Date : October 2023 JOB SUMMARY The Maintenance Assistant
will collaborate with the Director of Maintenance to provide care
for all properties, grounds, and vehicles, as instructed by the
Director. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS Provide maintenance of all
structures on campus, including repairs as needed. Assist in
maintenance of all properties and making sure they are in a state
of good repair, function and appearance. Responsible for appearance
and routine maintenance of the grounds Respond to work orders in a
timely fashion. Assist in maintenance of agency vehicles. Assist
with maintenance volunteers. Assist with picking up donations.
Research repair methods and be teachable to learn new skills as
deemed appropriate by Director of Maintenance. Act as a positive
role model and assist with residents in the campus work program, as
needed. Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES • N/A REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND
QUALIFICATIONS N/A PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS High
school diploma or GED. Experience in a maintenance role.
COMPENTENCIES Present oneself, both at and outside of work, in a

approach. Possess sensitivity to the cultural differences that are
present among the organization’s service population and staff.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to
organize work, set priorities, manage time, and follow structured

demands the employee will regularly encounter include climbing,
balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching,
standing for sustained periods of time, walking, pushing, pulling,
lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion. The
employee will also regularly be required to talk and hear to
provide and receive information or instructions. This job requires
visual acuity to operate machinery and to perform
mechanical/skilled trade tasks of a non-repetitive nature. The
position also requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and
exert up to 100 pounds of force. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work
environment describes the conditions that an employee may encounter
when performing their job duties, including but not limited to, the
essential functions of the position. Reasonable accommodation may

these duties. Job functions are performed both indoors and
outdoors. They are typically protected from weather conditions but
are exposed to temperature changes. The worker will occasionally be
