Job Description:

The Project Manager, Facilities Management, is responsible for managing capital projects on a national basis for owned and managed communities across Five Star's portfolio. The Project Manager will concentrate on projects at any one of the 280+ communities in 32 states, collaborating with Five Star's Design and Construction and Facilities Management teams, on a varied portfolio of facilities-related projects. Such projects may include large and complex renovations, utility infrastructure, maintenance projects, as well as minor renovation and alteration projects that support the overall building maintenance and infrastructure of Five Star's communities.Candidates must have a proven track record of successful project delivery and experience representing owners' interests in Project Management, Construction Management, Facilities Planning and/or Engineering. Additional experience in Construction Project Management in a corporate setting is welcome. Excellent communication and organizational skills, and creativity in problem solving are required for success in this position. The candidate must be able to build and maintain strong, cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders and be a trusted team leader.Essential Functions:Define, plan and manage the full scope of assigned projects. Project values will range from $250,000 to $50 millionIdentify, analyze, prioritize, communicate and mitigate project risksManage multiple projects simultaneously to successful outcomesForecast, track and manage project budgets, POs, and invoices in accordance with generally accepted accounting principlesCoordinate appropriate resources (technical & non-technical) to meet project needsCoordinate large project commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) effortsReview drawings and specification for accuracy and consistency with Five Star Senior Living standardsWork collaboratively with user groups, Design and Construction, Operations, EH&S, Security, Information Systems, Permit officials and othersPlan and manage internal and external project communications, ensuring effective exchange of project information, expectations, and deliverablesProvide and promote high standards of professionalism, integrity and leadership, both within and outside the organization, appropriately representing Five Star Senior Living's 5 core principles, business philosophies, protocols and standardsAbility to travel (approximately 25% to 50% of the work year). Most travel duration is three to five days in length.QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.Education and ExperienceBachelor degree in Business, Engineering or relate field of studies5 years of direct experience in Project Management relative Real Estate physical site construction, design, and operations or a related fields. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The experience should be specific to Project Management Real Estate physical site operations.Demonstrated understanding of construction and design codes, practices and standards..CompetenciesDemonstrated project management skills throughout the entire capital project lifecycle, from concept to final design to ongoing facility support; experience managing capital projects between $250 thousand and $20 million is preferredThorough knowledge of design, construction administration, AIA contracts, compliance requirements, commissioning, qualification, and validation and best practices in the senior living industryDemonstrated knowledge of general MEP systems, FF&E, specialty equipment, and energy reduction/sustainability initiativesThorough understanding of construction contracts, construction logistics, and challenges associated executing construction activities in sensitive environmentsKnowledge of estimating, budgeting, and scheduling processesStrong communication skills, including a demonstrated strength in effective writing and verbal communications, and the ability to energize team members to continue making progress at all stages of the project lifecycleStrong time management skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities and challenging deadlinesComputer skills include: MS Project, MS Visio, MS Office 365, Bluebeam, CAD, BIM/Revit, Workday (optional)
