All together, we're working with a purpose: to bring happiness into the lives of the customers we adore and to---Spread the Love---to others as far as we can reach. - - -Opportunity: -We are looking for -a strategic and very hands-on Manager of Production and Sourcing. -This position -is a critical role as we continue to develop and expand our children's, tweens, and -women's apparel -and accessories -offerings in the same imaginative spirit that originally started Matilda Jane. The ideal candidate must be multi-task oriented and knowledgeable of the entire sourcing process from concept development through product development, -production -and logistics. He or she should be familiar with the opportunities, challenges and solutions associated with developing first quality children's product. -Key areas of responsibility include, monitoring and ensuring adherence to production calendar with the Cross Functional Team (CFT), -as well as -time and action calendars and costing details with vendors. - -RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage entire -sourcing and -production -process -through -daily correspondence with vendors and the -internal -cross functional teams. Responsible for all vendor relationships including achieving costing targets, quality standards, and on time delivery. -Manage -sourcing support team. -
Relationships (CFT & Vendor)

  • Partner with overseas -agents, vendors, and factories to develop and deliver first -quality -product -
  • Communicate to CFT (Design/Tech/Merchant/Planner) production concerns and challenges that could increase cost, reduce -quality, -or delay delivery -
  • Assist the designers -and technical designers -in developing products to drive sales and increase margin -
  • Continue to strengthen existing vendor base while building new strategic relationships to expand our sourcing base -
  • Travel -as necessary, possibly 1-2x/year -
    Product Development -
    • Seasonal -vendor -allocation of -the line through analysis of -previous factory performance and garment costing -
    • Attend tech and design -product -hand offs -to help identify possible development or product quality concerns -
    • Work with technical design to ensure on time fit approvals -
    • Manage all packaging approvals (UPC/Tags/Labels/Washi Tape/Stickers) -
      Cost Management -
      • Responsible for the achievement of -seasonal -IMU -and AUC -goals -for all categories -
      • Responsible for fabric -negotiations -
      • Negotiate costs for reorders and -work to -reduce -MOQ costs -
      • Analyze and record shipping costs and savings -
      • Ensure we have the proper HTS Codes and Duty Rates for our products -
      • Manage -monthly chargebacks -with factories and finance -
      • Manage PO team to ensure timely creation of all orders -
        Quality Assurance -
        • Monitor, review and approve testing reports for each style before shipment -
        • Request new ITS test protocols as needed with new product categories -
        • Partner with Tech Design to review PP samples for quality and proper labeling -
        • Ensure Vendor Manual -remains current and receives -timely -updates -
        • Review Shipment Audit Reports from factories -and ensure shipment meets our AQL standards -
        • Stay abreast of government regulations applicable to -MJC products -and ensure compliance -
          Production Management -
          • Manage our production calendar and ensure adherence to set dates; build out PLC annually -
          • Set -time and action calendars to -manage workflow -between -cross-functional team members -and factories to achieve on time deliverables -
          • Review -and manage -weekly WIP reports from factories -
          • Maintain current -sourcing clipboard -management -tool with all style information -
          • Manage production -flow -with the factories and troubleshoot issues -
          • Ensure on time fabric and artwork approvals -
          • Oversee shipment approvals with -factories and -Freight Forwarders -
          • Track receipt of photo and conference samples - -REQUIRED SKILLS:
            • 5-7 -years of experience in Production and Sourcing -preferably -in Children's Wear - -
            • Working knowledge of fabric negotiations, garment construction, costing, and testing -
            • Previous experience interacting directly with overseas factories and agents -
            • Must be able to handle multiple priorities/multi-task -in an efficient and effective manner -
            • Work effectively and collaboratively within a small team -
            • Excellent written and verbal communication skills -
            • Must be detail oriented -
            • Computer Proficient --- Microsoft Excel, -Word -and Outlook, with strong Excel skills -
            • College degree required -
