Should you have any questions, please email the agency at -ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIESThe primary responsibility of the Support Staff Manager is the overall management of the agency's Support Staff Division, including team leads, legal assistants, and other secretarial staff. Duties of the Support Staff manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishing effective communication with secretarial staff regarding agency policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Effectively managing team leads and ensuring there is a proper training process in place for those individuals, as well as their staff.
  • Taking initiative to understand attorney and key stakeholder needs, identifying opportunities for secretarial staff to execute those needs, and improving agency productivity.
  • Designing, developing, and implementing division policies and procedures, as well as division process improvements.
  • Preparing, analyzing, and presenting data related to the agency's Support Staff Division in an effective manner.
  • Monitoring work, and ensuring work is being completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Setting goals, tracking the progress of goals, and ensuring goals are being met.
  • Working with team leads to monitor team members' performance, and coaching team members as necessary.
  • Working with Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ an appropriate number of employees.
  • Empowering employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegating responsibility and providing accountability and regular feedback.
  • Consciously creating a workplace culture that is consistent with the agency's values and fostering employee engagement.
  • Conducting trainings and meetings when necessary.
  • Assisting with work within the Support Staff Division as necessary.

    • Must be able to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook effectively.
    • Must be able to travel on agency-related business as needed. The agency has locations in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, and Hendry/Glades counties. This position is based in Fort Myers, but the agency has Support Staff team members in each of its county locations.
    • Must be able to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPIRENCEBachelor's degree in business administration, management, public administration, or related field required. Two years of office experience, two years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, is also required. Prior legal experience preferred.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, legal documents, and governmental regulations. Ability to write business correspondence.COMPUTER SKILLSBasic computer skills are required including keyboarding use of PC's, printers, etc. Microsoft Office experience required.MATHMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.RESONING ABILITYMust be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to evaluate problems, isolate key issues, research and develop alternative solutions.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be mobile, speak, and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally life and/or move up to 25 pounds.
