Job Summary:
WGCU broadcasts are the NPR and PBS stations of Southwest Florida.
These stations are among the highest market shares for audience
delivery of all public stations in the country. Half of everyone
that lives in the market depends on these stations each month
according to Nielsen. The Associate General Manager will tap into
this great potential to secure funding and bring people in our
community together, to increase our capacity to deliver news,
education, arts & culture, health, science, and history that
enriches the lives of our audience.
WGCU's Associate General Manager of Development manages a team of
professional fundraisers and has a personal portfolio for the
solicitation, retention, and recognition of Individual Gifts in our
major donor group for those who give in excess of $2,500 annually,
branded as the Leadership Circle. This role builds and implements
strategy to meet financial and stewardship goals for the Annual
Fund, Planned and Major Individual Gifts, and Campaign Funds. Plans
and conducts special events aimed at fundraising and/or donor
development. The Associate General Manager is a critical member of
the WGCU senior leadership team that collaborates to reach
objectives set by the General Manager and Florida Gulf Coast
University.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary: $104,000 annually. Extremely generous benefits package
provided through Florida Gulf Coast University.
Job Description:
Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
* Develops fundraising strategies, goals, and objectives for WGCU,
including prospect identification and management.
* Manages a portfolio of donors and prospects. Plans and develops
innovative strategies for portfolio growth.
* Allocates department goals across the team, evaluates and
improves performance.
* Joins WGCU Development staff on critical meetings with high
profile donors.
* Attends community events to build and maintain the reputation of
WGCU.
* Oversees the design of fundraising campaigns and communication
plans with donors and prospective donors using television, radio,
print, direct mail, digital, and social media channels.
* Liaison to the WGCU Advisory Board fundraising committee.
Collaborates to set the agenda and identify priorities.
* Develops and implements a lead management system for identifying,
evaluating, and managing prospects and current donors from the
membership base. Segments members at lower donation levels with
higher capacity.
* Develops and executes a plan to track campaign results.
* Oversees the collection and distribution of a weekly
cross-departmental revenue report.
* Participates in the development and coordination of special
events and programs for WGCU donors and prospects.
Other Duties:
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an
appropriate area of specialization.
* Seven years of professional full-time experience in Advancement,
fundraising, management, or other relevant experience
* Experience with Campaign fundraising.
* Demonstrated success identifying new funding donor sources.
* Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience,
and/or certifications may be considered.
* Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and
Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate
area of specialization.
* Managerial experience within a university-licensed public
broadcasting join licensee.
* Fundraising experience in a public broadcast setting.
* Experience and proficiency with Raiser's Edge, Allegiance or
similar fundraising applications.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Knowledge of accounting, budgeting, finance and management
principles, practices and procedures.
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
skills.
* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and
complete simultaneous projects.
* Ability to influence at the most senior levels of an organization
and work across functions, levels, and departments toward shared
objectives.
* Ability to collaborate and develop strategic relations with a
diverse group of staff, faculty, students, and business
partners.
* Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and
perform work in various situations when numerous and diverse
demands are involved.
* Ability to use effective decision making and problem solving
techniques.
* Ability to thrive in an organization that values the diversity of

* Ability to think critically and creatively, have a high standard
