Vice President of Construction Fort Myers, FL, US Position Overview:The VP of Construction coordinates and oversees the production of new homes. Ensures adher-ence to established policies and procedures. Manages superintendents, subcontractors and com-pany crews. Monitors and controls production costs. Acts as a liaison between Maronda Homes Inc., and external contacts. Acts as qualifying agent with active license for permitting.Reporting Relationship:Reports to: Division PresidentSupervises: Production Manager(s)/ Project Managers/ Service Manager(s); Vendor/ Subcon tractors / Suppliers Maronda Systems Contract Services CrewsDuties and Responsibilities:

• ---Ensures quality of construction by overseeing and/or performing a variety of inspectionsthroughout all phases of building. Ensures adherence to company policies and proceduresand to company, state and local government building specifications.
• ---Controls production costs. Negotiates bids/ prices with suppliers and subcontractors. Con-tinually evaluates existing bids for competitiveness. Obtains Division Presidents ap-proval before accepting price increases. Resolves problem invoices. Monitors cost overruns. Develops, updates and maintains are figure costs. Works on take-offs and masterspecific cost sheet adjustments.
• ---Coordinates production schedule. Holds weekly production meetings. Coordinates withProject Managers the scheduling of suppliers, subcontractors and Maronda Systems.Oversees the training and developments of Project Manager. Actively seeks continualconstruction process and/or material cost reductions to result in more efficient/effectiveconstruction process and reduce house prime cost.
• ---Acts as liaison between the company and building inspectors. Interacts with customers.Acts as troubleshooter. Addresses service problems outside realm of the Service Manual:Analyzes situations and determines courses of action to follow to remedy problems. Mayevaluate lots prior to purchase to determine the fill requirements and costs associated withbuilding on specific lots.
• ---Conducts annual performance reviews with each production and service employee.
• ---Assumes other duties as prescribed by the Division President.Required Education, Skills, ans Knowledge: ---High School Diploma or equivalent required. ---3-5 Years of varied residential construction experience; ---Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience needed. ---Ability to diplomatically communicate with others required.Work Conditions and Physical requirments ---Ability to bend, kneel, walk for significant periods of time. ---Physically able lift up to 50 lbs. ---Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures. ---Valid Driver's license and personal auto insurance with at least state minimum coverage.
