Job Summary Remote Position (FL Only) This is a primarily remote position incumbents, who reside in Florida only, may work at home. Supervise and plan the process improvement activities while overseeing the daily operations consistent with department policies and procedures. The coding supervisor ensures accuracy, consistency and efficiency in relation to code assignment for reimbursement and reporting purposes. The coding supervisor performs quality reviews for coding staff in order to validate code and reimbursement assignments. Additional responsibilities include monitoring governmental and insurance industry information for correct code assignments, training coding staff, providing educational seminars for health care staff, communicating with physicians and health care professionals to clarify supportive documentation for code assignment and working with the billing department to ensure appropriate reimbursement for codes assignment. Coding supervisor may also be asked to compile data reports for meetings and attend professional meetings. Coding Supervisor may be responsible for direct reports. Will conduct performance appraisals for staff directly supervised. Educational Requirements Degree/Diploma Obtained Program of Study Required/ Preferred and/or Associate's Business Administration Required, OR May accept 3 years medical/billing practice management experience with compliance standards in lieu of education Experience Requirements Minimum Years Required Area of Experience Required/ Preferred and/or 3 Years Outpatient Coding Required State of Florida Licensure Requirements Licenses Required/ Preferred and/or Not Required Certifications/Registration Requirements Certificates/Registrations Required/ Preferred and/or CPC (Certified Professional Coder) Required CEDC (Certified Emergency Department Coder) Preferred US:FL:Cape Coral
