Hospice LPN is responsible for providing nursing interventions and
teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and to enhance the
quality of life to the patient/family unit.Qualifications:A high
school diploma or G.E.D. or an equivalent combination of education
and experienceCurrent LPN licensure in the state of Florida, or
current licensure from another state plus a temporary Florida
permitMinimum of one (1) year nursing experience in an in-patient,
hospice, or home health settingMobile Driver - Valid drivers
license and automobile insurance per Company policyActive BLS for
healthcare professionals from the American Heart Association or Red
Cross. Employees hired prior to 12/31/2022 must obtain certificate
prior to 10/1/2023Reliable transportation to meet visit
scheduleCertificate of completion of 30 hour Infusion Therapy
Course and in-house 8-hour Infusion Class preferredAbility to
communicate (written and verbal) in EnglishFlexible schedule to
meet the needs of patientsAbility to use equipment with visual and
auditory mechanismsAbility to manage the emotional stress of
working with and caring for terminally ill patients and their
familiesAbility to perform the essential functions and physical
requirements (including, but not limited to: lifting patients
and/or equipment, bending, pushing/pulling, kneeling) of the job
with or without reasonable accommodationCompetencies:Satisfactorily
complete competency requirements for this position.Responsibilities

appropriate for the position.Job Responsibilities:Under the
direction of an RN, provides nursing tasks to patients and families
such as continuous care, dressing changes, catheter changes as
identified in the plan of care developed by the Interdisciplinary
Group (IDG).Demonstrates clinical skills regarding application of
Company policies and procedures such as: medication administration,
symptom management, and patient/family
relationships.Observes/monitors patients for alterations in body
systems, pain and symptoms and reports to RN.Observes and reports
signs of adverse reactions and responses to treatments and reports
to RN.Reports findings to physicians, APRNs and physicians
assistants following collaboration with RN.Performs venipuncture
for blood specimens.Performs Central Venous Line (CVL) site
observation/inspection; venous access device dressing, cap change
and flushing venous access device; IV medication and fluid
administration, IV pushes (per procedure) and venipuncture. May not
make any changes to infusion pump including, but not limited to,
rate changes and IV bag changes.Documents per policy and procedure
in medical record.Performs other duties as assigned.Some locations
may require:Cross training to Hospice House positions of equal
licensure/certification and scope when census calls for flexible
staffing.This position requires consent to drug and/or alcohol
testing after a conditional offer of employment is made, as well as
on-going compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Policy.by
