Full Time Bus Operator Print (Apply Full Time Bus Operator Salary $13.02 - $23.02 HourlyLocation Fort Myers, FLJob TypeFull-Time RegularDepartmentTransitJob Number05538KIClosingContinuous Description Benefits Questions DescriptionThe starting pay for this position is $14.55 per hour.This position is skilled work in the operation of a passenger bus, trolley or passenger van.Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsibility for the safe operation of the vehicle on an assigned or deviated route and schedule at various locations within the county.Loading and unloading passengers, who may include elderly and/or disabled, and transporting them to various locations.Collecting fares.Performing basic vehicle maintenance.Completing necessary reports and paperwork.Work is performed independently under the general supervision of the Transit Supervisors and the Operations Manager.Education, Experience, LicensingRequires any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED.Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and possession of a valid Class B Commercial Learners Permit with passenger endorsement is required prior to accepting an offer of employment.Must obtain a Class B Commercial Drivers License with passenger endorsement within 30 days of hire date or employment will end.This position requires a candidate who receives a conditional offer of employment to pass a pre-employment drug screening.Transit Bus Drivers must be able to pass a Florida Department of Transportation Medical Examination and maintain a current medical card.
