Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develops, schedules and controls a preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition.

  • Plans and maintains a continual work schedule for department personnel.

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintenance - electrical, mechanical and tooling operations.

  • Inspects jobs in progress and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained.

  • Ensures proper maintenance of facility machinery and building.

  • Arranges or provides training as required.

  • Maintains inventories of maintenance material, supplies and repair parts at required levels through inventory control and purchase requisition procedures.

  • Recommends, plans and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction; supports tool/equipment design and fabrication for reprocessing projects.

  • Works with engineering on electrical and mechanical equipment layouts and the modification of facilities within the plant.

  • Ensures that high standards of safety are developed, met and maintained, to include

  • lock-out/tag-out procedures, start-up/shut-down procedures, confined space training, etc. Arranges or provides training as required.

  • Secures equipment bids and makes recommendations for purchase when replacement or new equipment is required.

  • Maintains roster of satisfactorily performing outside contractors who may be needed for special maintenance jobs.

  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures related to maintenance and safety.

  • Participates in annual budget preparation.

  • Serves or designates representatives to various cross-functional work teams or Strategic Action Plans.

  • Interviews, hires and evaluates department personnel.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads team of maintenance and tool room staff.

  • Must have excellent skills in coordinating efforts of diverse personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree in related field preferred; or two or more years experience in supervisory positions utilizing a combination of technical, managerial and financial expertise.

  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations relative to plant operations and maintenance

  • Building and leading teams, understands business acumen and finances

  • Minimum five years of experience in Industrial/Automation industry as a leader

  • Highly skilled in troubleshooting Electronics in Industrial Equipment and Automation

  • Ability to adopt to rapid changes with workload and projects

  • Ability to work safely on own and with team members.

LANGUAGE / COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • None

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Must have mathematical skills necessary to understand maintenance projects, including the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Must be able to gather information to assess priorities.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to travel occasionally domestically.

Description:

Occasional: activity exists less than 1/3 of the time.

Frequent: activity exists 1/3 and 2/3 of the time.
