QC Document Control Specialist

Job Description:

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Manages the Document Initiation and Change Control Programs
  • Maintain the Document Control Master List and Ensure documentation is available at point of use
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures/Standard Work Process sheets for internal use
  • Ability to review Production and Quality Control Inspection documentation
  • Collect and maintain files of the latest revision level documentation necessary to define finished good product specifications
  • Timely preparation and distribution to all appropriate uses of the latest level documentation, such as document and change control requests
  • Ensure that obsolete documentation is removed from distribution
  • Ensure received files from outside sources are forwarded to appropriate internal party in a timely manner
  • Support change control, material reviews, complaint/program/investigations, CAPA program, SOP program, labeling, new product development documentation, out of specification disposition, finished product specifications
  • Request production documentation from vendors, manufacturing and regulatory documents, raw material and product C&A, analytical document certificates and Safety Data Sheets
  • Perform clerical typing duties to generate documents as necessary
  • Conduct periodic checks with manufacturing documentation to identify gaps and improvements
  • Conduct Quality Control Incoming and In-Process Inspections as required
  • Provide routine support for all functional areas and facilitate cross-functional processes
  • Record data, track errors and assist with reporting departmental metrics
  • Participant on internal audit team
  • Other duties as assigned by management

EDUCATION:

BS/BA science degree (preferred) - Two-year degree in a technical field. Experience may be substituted for degree

MANAGEMENT:

None

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of International Organization for Standardization (primarily ISO 9001:2015)
  • Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/tasks with little or minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Ability to work independently but maintain contact with internal departments
  • Demonstrate reliable, consistent and quality results
  • Auditor experience (internal/external)
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to read, write & speak fluently in English
  • Able to read CAD drawings & other Technical documents
  • Able to write technical instructions for end users
  • Three to five years related experience in quality assurance or a similar field
  • Three to five year experience with manufacturing practices
  • Knowledge of SharePoint (Desired)
  • Knowledge of Quality Control tools (rulers, calipers, gage pins, etc.)
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Work in office environment or Work in a manufacturing environment
  • May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
  • Some travel may be required
