The Housing Specialist I maintains the day-to-day front desk
operations of the assigned Residence Hall(s) within the Office of
Housing and Residence Life.

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
* Maintains day-to-day front desk operations of the assigned
* Assists with the recruitment and selection of student
* Supervises front desk student assistants, creates schedules to
ensure coverage. Approves time, provides training and originates
personnel action forms.
* Monitors the distribution, collection and inventory of
residential room and mailbox keys, building master keys, storage
keys, common area keys, vendor keys and electronic swipe keys for
assigned residence hall(s).
* Oversees the incoming/outgoing mail, packages and deliveries for
residential students in assigned residence hall(s).
* Monitors room reservations and equipment rental for respective
building for students, faculty and staff.
* Reports and tracks facilities issues according to department
* Orders office supplies and monitors office supplies budget for
assigned residence hall(s).
* Coordinates the maintenance and upkeep of copier equipment.
* Reviews camera footage and supplies documentation of residence
* Other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description
High school diploma or equivalent.
Four years of relevant, full-time experience.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience,
and/or certifications may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of general office procedures.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and
complete simultaneous projects when numerous and diverse demands
Ability to operate office equipment including personal computer,
copy machine, fax machine, and calculator.
Ability to operate personal computers with proficiency and learn
new applications and systems
Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and
Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and
independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to interact in a professional manner with a diverse group
of staff, faculty, students, and the community in a
Ability to think critically and make clear, well-reasoned and
