LSF is looking for a talented Housing Resource Specialist who wants to make an impact in the lives of others.
Purpose & Impact:
The role of the Housing Resource Specialist is to provide comprehensive housing placement assistance to individuals who are enrolled in the APA, R&P, MG, and PC, programs. The Housing Resource Specialist is also responsible for fostering productive relationships and collaborating with service providers and community stakeholders to increase the number and quality of housing resources for anyone in need of housing.
Essential Functions:


  • Coordinator with case management staff to assist clients enrolled in the APA, R&P, MG, and PC, programs in identifying, securing and moving into housing.
  • Representing the agency through participating in statewide housing conferences and meetings with regards to the LSF programs.
  • Assisting housing agencies in leveraging other available resources toward a better overall system of housing services.
  • Providing technical assistance and training as needed to housing providers and community stakeholder groups.
  • Acting as the representative of LSF Refugee Services in compilation and presentation of housing reports in provider and community stakeholder meetings.
  • Soliciting and receiving feedback from providers and community stakeholders on service provision, community needs, and system of care development as it relates to housing services and reporting back to staff and the Program Director.
  • Identifying housing service needs in the area and working with providers and community stakeholders to fill identified gaps.
  • Collaborating with the housing system of care staff to ensure an on-going flow of information from the community to LSF.
  • Managing a schedule of meetings and tasks to make the most efficient use of time and resources possible.
  • Other tasks as assigned

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability and flexibility to work extended hours and extensive local travel
    • Valid state drivers license and proof of auto insurance

      Education:
      Bachelors Degree Required
      Experience:
      Required minimum of 2 years of experience working with housing programs or subsidized rental assistance programs such as HUD, Section 8, compliance monitoring or enforcement, leasing, community development, property management, tenant-landlord relationships or closely related. Social services experience preferred.
      Other:
      Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
      Skills/Abilities:

      • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff, providers and community stakeholders while also maintaining high standards of excellence.
      • Ability to work independently and be able to manage time efficiently.
      • Ability to use discretion and judgment to implement management policies when interacting with community members.
      • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to our service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.

        Principal Accountabilities:

        • Reports to Program Director
        • Team player with providers, co-workers and office staff.
        • Accurate, complete and timely submission of required reports and proposals.
        • Adherence to policies and management practices.
