Radiology Technologist Specialty Spine & Pain, now an affiliate of National Spine & Pain Centers (NSPC), is part of the one of the largest pain management practices in the United States. We currently are looking for a Radiology Technologist to support our team in Ft Myers, Florida. In addition to performing imaging exams on patients for use in the diagnosis of chronic pain conditions, the Radiology Technologist also will ensure that quality services are provided consistently to meet the needs of our patients, providers and organization as a whole. Working under the guidance of the Operating Room Manager, this role will: * Operate complex radiology machines in a procedural setting to obtain optimum imaging results, using technical/clinical knowledge and ability. * Prepare patients for radiological procedures and the exam process by performing effective positioning, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment according to specific instructions, and adjusting exposure controls. * Gain patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of treatment, and answering any questions. * Minimize radiation exposure by practicing all radiation protection techniques, as well as using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors. * Ensure the functionality of all radiology equipment by following all standard operating instructions, performing any preventive maintenance requirements, troubleshooting malfunctions appropriately, sustaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment/techniques. * Maintain all procedure room supplies and inventory including inspecting current stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of shipments. * Provide support in the event of any clinical complications, including following all drug protocols, administering first aid, and using emergency equipment effectively. * Ensure a safe and clean clinical environment by adhering to all infection control regulations, policies, and procedures. * Comply with and uphold all legal and professional requirements by maintaining all applicable licensure, studying existing/new legislation, anticipating future changes, and advising management of any needed actions. * Perform some administrative duties, as needed, including but not limited to maintaining logs and assisting with the preparation of patient paperwork. * Adhere to and uphold all applicable federal and state compliance regulations, the NSPC Code of Conduct, the NSPC Employee Handbook, compliance policies and procedures, and applicable healthcare fraud, waste and abuse laws. * Understand, comply with, and enforce all NSPC policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and OSHA and HIPAA privacy rules. * Perform other duties as assigned. We require the following: * A high school degree or equivalent education and training. * Successful completion of a Radiologic Technology program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). * A valid and current license in the state of employment, if the state offers a licensing certification program. * Valid and current registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or valid and current registration with an equivalent Radiologic Technology credentialing agency. * A minimum of six months of experience in X-Ray and familiarity with routine medical procedures, preferably in a group practice setting. * Excellent patient care skills and awareness of the legal implications of work and words in healthcare. * Knowledge of business/healthcare operations and standards of best practice, preferably those related to a specialty care provider. * Knowledge of EMR and/or Electronic Practice Management systems and technologies, preferably Centricity and Modernizing Medicine. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word and Excel. * The capacity to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment, while demonstrating resourcefulness and proactivity. * Excellent organizational/multi-tasking skills with acute attention to detail. * Ability to provide outstanding customer service at all times by communicating effectively and professionally with a diverse population. * Ability to travel, as needed. * Authorization to work in the United States without requiring authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future. * A satisfactory background check inclusive of driving records, criminal records, employment references, education, social security and OIG exclusions.
