Under the clinical direction of a radiologist and general supervision of the Ultrasound Manager, or Center Manager or designee and Technical Director, transthoracic adult echo not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical applications that require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to achieve the prescribed exam for diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Knowledge of principles and procedures of diagnostic ultrasound imaging, operation and maintenance of routine ultrasound and EKG equipment; at a level normally acquired through a one to two year program in ultrasonography and/or by successful completion of appropriate ultrasound registry, or registry eligible; and other training requirements as appropriate to comply with accrediting agencies; is required at a minimum. Analytical skills to determine methods of providing the requested procedures based on the specifics of each individual case, normally acquired in three to six months work experience.

Requirements:

Education:
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma and hold RDMS, CCI, or ARRT (US), certification or registry eligible with knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and not less than 6 months practical ultrasound experience.
Must have appropriate registry in practicing ultrasound specialty; or be registry eligible and actively pursuing registry in practicing ultrasound specialty by active continuing education and other training requirements as appropriate to comply with accrediting agencies.
Must have completed required hours of continuing education per certification or annual period, to satisfy RDMS, CCI, ARRT (US), State of Florida and Federal requirements, as well as other accrediting agencies applicable.
Required: CPR Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience :
Minimum of 3 years practical experience as a Full-Time Echocardiographer is desirable.
