Job Description:
A company is looking for a Somali Interpreter (Virtual).
Key Responsibilities:
Relay oral information accurately between speakers of two different
languages in consecutive, simultaneous, or sight translation
modes
Facilitate effective communication between parties that do not
speak the same language
Adhere to ethical codes, maintain client confidentiality, and act
as a cultural broker when necessary
Qualifications:
Possess native fluency in English and Somali
Demonstrate strong cultural awareness and understanding of language
as an expression of culture
Have excellent interpreting skills, including note-taking and
conflict resolution
Understand and abide by ethical codes and standards of practice for
interpreters
Be detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work well under
pressure
