Job Description Position Information Job TitleProject Assistant for Fraternity and Sorority Life (OPS) Job Description The Project Assistant for Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) is a student staff member of the Office for Student Involvement that assist with the management of 20+ registered fraternities, sororities, governing councils, and umbrella organizations and the processing of organization registrations, event requests, and other paperwork. Required Qualifications Enrolled as an undergraduate student at Florida Gulf Coast University throughout length of employment. Ability to work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) software. Must be Interdependent, flexible, and possess a positive attitude. Preferred Qualifications Membership in a recognized fraternity or sorority at Florida Gulf Coast University. Prior leadership and/or programing experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities All employees are expected to: - Promote a common purpose consistent with stated University goals and demonstrate a commitment to students and the learning environment. - Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manual related to the job tasks. - Demonstrate the ability to respond to supervision, guidance and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies. - Provide quality customer service by creating a welcoming and supportive environment. - Present a professional image in word, action and attire. - Demonstrate professionalism in dealing with a diverse population while understanding and respecting each other's view of the world, personalities and working styles. - Apply effective techniques to create working relationships with others to achieve common goals; successfully communicates and collaborates with others to achieve goals. - Demonstrate skills necessary to look at situations and processes critically to make recommendations for improvement. Physical Demands * The ability to lift 50-100 pounds. Salary Range$8.50 per hour Job Duties Essential Job Duties * Reviews and registers organizations via EagleLink. * Reviews event planning form submissions via EagleLink. * Contacts FSL organization officers to communicate deadlines, decisions, and other information. * Assists with training of FSL officers on the EagleLink event planning form process. * Assists with programs such as the New Members Retreat, Greek Leaders Retreat, and the Fraternity and Sorority Life Awards. * Inputs survey and assessment data of FSL programs into the system. * Maintains assessment date of FSL programs, website and social media outlets. * Conducts research on best practices and benchmark with other SUS and similar institutions. * Provides quality customer service via email, phone and in person. * Interacts with students and the public in a polite and courteous manner. * Promote a common purpose consistent with stated University goals and demonstrate a commitment to students and the learning environment. * Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manual related to the job tasks. * Demonstrate the ability to respond to supervision, guidance and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies. * Provide quality customer service by creating a welcoming and supportive environment. * Present a professional image in word, action and attire. * Demonstrate professionalism in dealing with a diverse population while understanding and respecting each other's view of the world, personalities and working styles. * Apply effective techniques to create working relationships with others to achieve common goals; successfully communicates and collaborates with others to achieve goals. * Demonstrate skills necessary to look at situations and processes critically to make recommendations for improvement.
