Benefit Consultant Overview: the Benefit Consultant delivers results oriented, strategic consultation to our clients to successfully meet their expectations in a manner that is beneficial to both the client and Key Family.
Benefit Consultant Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Build strong client and broker relationships and be extremely responsive to the needs of both clients and brokers.


    • Actively oversee assigned accounts, both large and small; establish and manage client and broker expectations.


      • Track all open and escalated issues of clients and meet with proper staff to resolve these items.


        • Must be a "student of the business", that is, be knowledgeable of new developments, practices and trends in our industry and among our competitors.


          • Prepare and present renewal proposals that include services, fee structure and time frames. Accurately create and deliver interim and renewal packets to clients.


            • Attend and participate in all Client Services required monthly Consulting Meetings, regular department meetings and training sessions.

              Benefit Consultant Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

              • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management level staff.
              • Ability to effectively present ideas and influence decisions.
              • 5+ years of experience in employee benefits consulting.
              • Demonstrated knowledge of benefit strategy, plan design, pricing, and plan management.
              • Possess or the ability to obtain a Life, Accident & Health Producer Insurance license & complete continuing education yearly to renew license.
              • Requires a broad business perspective and the ability to think and operate strategically.
              • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
              • Ability to travel required.
