To be the best, we want the best - best brands, best practices and, most importantly, the best people.Job Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION:The incumbent shall perform routine maintenance work, such as greasing and lubrication routines, line inspections, perform preventive maintenance procedures from a checklist, perform basic troubleshooting, make adjustments and replacement of parts on equipment.The incumbent must have his own personal hand tools and be familiar with all basic tools of various trades, including some power tools. Must be able to maintain records and make reports as required.The incumbent shall exercise good judgement in regard to quality, safety, and the security of the plant facilities, as well as maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work environment. Must have good interpersonal skills and good communication skills, both orally and written.As a maintenance employee, the incumbent will be required to work in all areas of the facility, indoors & outdoors, under adverse conditions. The environment ranges from below 0o F to above 100o F, wet, humid, confined spaces and unique situations. In addition, the incumbent must be able to lift 50 pounds, be agile for confined space work and be able to climb ladders.ADVANCEMENT:Before advancement to Maintenance Technician II, the following qualifications must be met:* Minimum of 6 months as Maintenance Technician III.* Support of the TQM philosophy.* Demonstrate good, reliable work ethics, perform quality work, and maintain good working relationships with this and all other departments. See measurement below.* Demonstrate skill and ability in requirements for Maintenance Technician II.* Formal training classes are required. An equivalent of 10 credit hours must be completed. Management will approve classes. The Immediate Supervisor, Manager, Technology Support and Manager of Human Resources will review exceptions to the formal training.MEASUREMENT:Measurement will include items such as attendance, work accuracy, timeliness of completion of assignments, thoroughness, efficient use of time, cooperation, flexibility, feedback from other departments, safety practices, proficient use of the computerized maintenance program, and other criteria as determined by management. This will be monitored through a performance process.GENERAL PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:* Maintain equipment in assigned area of responsibility to maximize uptime* Work with production to ensure all quality standards are met* Work with production to ensure expected production volumes are met* Perform preventive maintenance as assigned* Fill out all assigned paperwork and reports* Investigate and correct equipment problems* Ensure a safe and sanitary work environment at all times* Report all equipment failures or non-conformances when foundELECTRICAL/TECHNICAL SKILL BASE REQUIREMENTS:* Have a working knowledge of PLC's* Understand and apply NEC guidelines* Perform electrical installations, including conduit, panels and wiring* Have working knowledge of instrumentation* Perform electrical system troubleshootingMECHANICAL SKILL BASE REQUIREMENTS:* Perform minor welding* Perform minor fabrication and machining* Perform basic electrical troubleshooting* Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment and systems* Basic hydraulic and pneumatic knowledgePERFORMANCE:All employees at this level of maintenance must satisfactorily meet a 3/4 majority of the general and related skill base requirements. The determination will be made through actual performance as measured by the performance appraisal. Considerations may be given for any physical handicaps.ASSIGNED WORK AREA:The area of responsibility will be assigned by the maintenance supervisor and is subject to change at any time.RESPONSIBILITIES:The responsibilities for Maintenance Technician III shall be accomplished through the use of thefollowing:* TQM philosophy* Performing daily inspections of all assigned equipment and systems* Performing preventive maintenance procedures on all assigned equipment and systems* Completion of assigned work orders* Performing and completing safety inspections* Performing and completing sanitation inspections* Monitoring of all utilities* Elimination of all foreign material sources* Elimination of all stagnant product/product loss* Regular and accurate record keeping* Communication with maintenance supervisor* Communication and cooperation with this and all other departments* Knowledge and understanding of the MP2 system* Determination and ordering of necessary spare parts (MRO system)* Initiation of cost / quality improvements on a regular basis* Completion of any other tasks assigned by ManagementFollow Safety Guidelines in accordance with Safe Practices and Job Safety Analysis. Participates in theWork Safe Process.Responsible for adhering to FSQ guidelines, and supporting the overall QRMP process.Location(s) Ft. Myers - Hourly
